3.2.9 installs as a new app if you are on 2.x. Box Seats now uses the package name com.boxseats.app, so Android treats it as a separate install and will not update a Box Seats or Movie Magic build older than 3.2.0 over the top. Both will sit on your home screen until you remove the old one.

To keep your setup: open your existing app first, go to Settings → Backup and export a backup file. Install 3.2.9, import that file from Settings → Backup, check your providers and recordings are there, then uninstall the old app. Uninstalling first throws the backup away with it.

  1. On your box: Settings → Security → allow Unknown sources.
  2. Open this page in the box's browser or a downloader app.
  3. Press Download APK, then open the downloaded file.
  4. Confirm the install prompt.
  5. Launch Box Seats from your Android TV home screen.

If the app does not start

Try the side-by-side test build (33 MB). It installs as a separate app, so it will not touch the copy you already have, and it is built without code shrinking — useful for telling the two apart if something misbehaves.
