Getting the best picture on any connection

Streaming quality is decided by the weakest link between our servers and your screen, and that link is very often inside your own house rather than on your line.

Wi-Fi is usually the problem

A 4K stream needs a steady connection more than a fast one. If your TV is two walls away from the router, a cable — or a router moved into the same room — will do more for the picture than doubling your line speed.

Give the TV its own band

Most routers broadcast on 2.4GHz and 5GHz. The 5GHz band is faster and far less crowded; put the TV or box on it and leave the 2.4GHz band for phones and doorbells.

Restart the box, not the subscription

If a channel stalls while others play normally, it is almost always the box's buffer rather than your account. A restart clears it. If it persists, tell us which channel and when — that is the detail that lets us find it quickly.
